Day Trip to Segovia

Class was canceled on Tuesday, so some friends and I decided to take a spontaneous day trip to Segovia, Spain. It only took about 30 minutes to get from Madrid to Segovia by train. We spent the day exploring the city. We were dropped off by the enormous aqueduct in the center of the city. “Researchers believe it was constructed during the second half of the first century (C.E.) and the early years of the second.” It is quite the architectural accomplishment! We made our way up the winding streets to the Cathedral-the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain. Pictures do not do it justice. It is enourmous and absolutely beautiful. The Alcazar of Segovia is found past the cathedral. The castle is said to be inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella castle. Segovia was the perfect little town to sneak away to for the day. It is mind blowing for me to think that people used to live in Segovia during the 2nd century C.E.Segovia Segoviacastle Segovia2 Segoviamoat Segoviacastle2 Segoviacastle3

Segovia was the first city we visited in Spain after Madrid. WE enjoyed it just like you have done. The sights you saw where the ones we enjoyed. So much fun to follow your stay in Spain. Britta and Henrik are staying with us for 3 days, it so much fun having them. Love Mormor
