Life Lately

ChicagoWhat a whirlwind the past few weeks have been! During the school year, I always envision myself lounging around, going to the beach, having time for long runs, etc. during summer break. I’m not sure why that is my idea of summer because I have worked 6 days a week the past three summers. Ha!

Although this summer has been jammed packed with interning and work, I have still thoroughly enjoyed myself. My friends and I have made a point to make the most of the time we do have off by checking items off our summer bucket list. Alana and I finally both had a morning off together, so we made our way to Zella to try out their amazing brunch special. Although we live together, we never see each other because our schedules are completely opposite. So, it was great to spend a little quality time together. We were dying to try Zella‘s brunch special and it worked out perfectly that there was no wait because it was Father’s Day. For $34 Zella offers a breakfast buffet and bottomless bloody mary’s and mimosas. We hunkered in for two hours on the sunny patio and obsessed over life. After our stomachs reached capacity, we grabbed an Uber to North Ave. Beach where we met another friend and caught some rays. It was such a perfect day!

My internship continues to be great. We all had lunch at Taco Joint near our office, which turned out to be way better than I expected. It wasn’t quite Big Star, but it was a close second. Free food always makes up for the fact that it is an unpaid internship.

I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of June. Summer, slow down please!
