Farewell to the Best Summer Ever

Chicago Summer

And just like that, my last summer as a student is over.

It was one to remember.

I did not post nearly as much as I was hoping to over the summer. Between interning and working, there wasn’t much time to fire up my laptop and pump out a post. So, here are a few highlights from an eventful August in Chicago. It was a good one!

I finally made it to Lollapalooza! Lolla is a three day music festival in the heart of Chicago that showcases a big-time lineup. I had been trying to attend since I began at Loyola, but it always conflicted with Danebod. It was everything I hoped it would be!

New York

Two of my friends and I snuck away to NYC at the beginning of August to see our friend Ashley before she left for London. Little did she know, we were going to stay at Trump Hotel Central Park during our time in NYC. It was our little surprise to her because we were unable to celebrate her 21st with her.

Thank you to the BFF Erin for a great list of places to hit up. Le Bain on top of the Standard Hotel was a great place to start our night out on the town. There were views of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. I definitely recommend checking it out before rooftop weather slips away.

After we tore up NYC, we took the train to Fairfield, CT where Ashley grew up. It was great to meet all her friends and extend family. Stories are so much better when you have a face and place to envision.

Trump Chicago

We packed a light dinner and brought it to Millennium Park for the concert in the park series. We were dropped off by the hotel car, a Cadillac Escalade – you better believe we took full advantage of the perks of staying at the Trump Hotel!

Serious relationship goals right there. They’re coming up on 25 years of marriage!

One of the perks of working at The Terrace is the awesome employee discount I receive. Georgi, my parents, and I stayed in a one-bedroom suite at Trump Chicago when they visited at the end of August. Ashlee at the front desk was so sweet and upgraded us to a one-bedroom corner suite, which is much larger than the standard one-bedroom. G and I hammed it up! We lounged around in the lush robes and took endless selfies. Talk about a weekend of luxury!

Cheers to a memorable summer!
