If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, it is no surprise to you that I am loving life in New York. The energy here is incredible and each neighborhood offers a unique adventure. I am taking full advantage of the unemployed life!
My cousin, Ingrid, is in town. Woo! She lived in NYC ten years ago, so we’ve had fun running around the city. On Friday, we visited the Union Square farmer’s market where she used to work and bought goodies for a picnic. We took our picnic out to Brighton Beach. I felt like a new person after jumping in the water. This city has introduced me to a whole new understanding of heat and humidity. It is like nothing I have ever experienced before… Breezes are non-existent and walking on the pavement feels like a stroll in an oven.
Turns out I actually have friends in the city. I had a fun weekend with a friend I worked with last summer. She moved to the city in November and has been a great tour guide during my short time here (*see amazing rooftop picture below). A friend from Loyola also lives in the area. She is located in Hoboken, NJ which is just on the other side of the Hudson River. I’m so thankful to have some Midwestern friends out here!
