The Amalfi Coast

Firing up this blog again to share photos from my recent trip to Europe! I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the Amalfi Coast and Amsterdam (more to come on that) for work at the end of October. I led a press trip to one of the properties my team at Hue & Cry represents called Casa Angelina, a stunning 39-room whitewashed hotel located in the town of Praiano. All of the rooms at the hotel boast jaw-dropping views of the coastline. As you’ll see in some of the photos below, the large white windows frame the view perfectly, making it appear as if the view is a piece of art. By the end of my visit, I’m sure the staff was sick of hearing me constantly comment on how incredible the view was. It was impossible for me not to express my appreciation for the view every time I walked by one of those windows!

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed I was having a very good time, but I was still working – I swear! Four US journalists based in Europe joined me at the property for three days to experience the property firsthand. The majority of media need to experience the property before they are able to write about it. The journalists that joined me write for publications including Condé Nast Traveler, Departures, Travel + Leisure, Vogue.com, Monocle, Red magazine, Fathom, among others.

Everyone was so lovely. We enjoyed meals together, a boat ride along the coast, lunch in Positano at Chez Black, the list goes on! We were very spoiled during our visit to Casa Angelina, making it quite difficult to return back to the grind of NYC.

Also, check out this article about Casa Angelina and Praiano on Vogue.com written by one of the journalists that joined me on the press trip!

My favorite part of Casa Angelina – by far – was the view of the sunset each night. The sunsets there were like nothing I have ever seen before. My mom loved watching the sunset from the beach whenever we visited Florida, so I always think of her whenever I watch a sunset now.

The Amalfi Coast By Sea

Chartering a boat is an absolute must if you ever visit the Amalfi Coast. The view from the water gives you a completely different perspective of the region.

The Holiday Season in NYC & MN

Happy holidays! Sharing a few photos from all the holiday festivities in NYC and Minnesota this December.

New York takes decorating for Christmas to a level I have never experienced before. I was blown away by the size of the Rockefeller Christmas tree along with the lights display at Saks. All so magical! And as always, it was so great to be home for ten days. Can’t believe it’s already time to head back!

East Coast Travels: Watch Hill, Rhode Island

I spent an amazing weekend in Watch Hill, RI. We stayed at the home of a family my cousin, Beret, is very close with. They built a gorgeous house that serves as a perfect weekend escape. The city had been unbearably hot, so I was grateful to receive an invite to sneak away for the weekend. We enjoyed lounging at the pool, playing tennis, and spending a day at the beach.

The Ocean House (in the photos above) was incredible. It is a seaside resort and beach club. We spent our beach day lounging at the Ocean House’s private beach with a Piña Colada in hand.

Can spot Taylor Swift’s RI house?

Tennis in all whites!

Of course, everyone I was with last weekend is very in to tennis. Tennis, unfortunately, is one sport I never learned to play growing up, but I joined the fun anyway. I had to borrow white tennis clothes (it was dresscode). For my first true tennis experience, I felt pretty legit. I was in all whites and playing on a clay court at a gorgeous country club.

How gorgeous is their home?!

Cruising Down the Chicago River

I was so lucky to get on the water twice during a recent trip to Chicago. Once with Emily and her family, and again for the Chicago Architectural Tour. Now that my time in Chicago is quickly coming to an end, I am glad any time an opportunity to try something new comes up.

I definitely recommend doing the architectural tour. It was a great way to learn about the history of the city while also seeing the city from a new perspective. My friend and I went through Wendella Boats and we were happy with our experience.

An Anna Maria Island Sunset

Anna Maria Island - Florida

Below are photos from our last day on Anna Maria Island. Of course, Charli and I had to make one last trip to Two Scoops, our favorite ice cream spot on the Island.

That night, we went to the northern tip of the island to watch the sunset. The beach up there reminds me of the west coast of Denmark, which makes it extra special.

Hopefully, a little video from Florida will be on its way soon!
